Built by Nature launched a new Global Prize, recognising exemplary real-world applications of the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction, on the second day of the International Mass Timber Conference in Portland, Oregon. Kicking off April 7, the grant-funding network will open applications for completed and in-use projects, including new builds, renovations, and significant extensions.
“We are proud to launch our 2025 Prize to recognise the best timber construction projects from around the world,” said Paul King, CEO of Built by Nature. Entrants will be asked to use existing project information to show how their projects align with the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction. The sector is already delivering great timber buildings; now it’s time to celebrate success and accelerate its replication.”
Wood Central understands that the winning projects will be announced at the Built by Nature Summit in October, with the winning projects to be showcased at COP30 later this year in Brazil.
Running March 25 to 27, 2025, the International Mass Timber Conference is the world’s largest gathering of mass timber experts, with more than 3,500 delegates from around the globe converging on Portland for the conference. Wood Central – one of the conference’s media partners – spoke to President and CEO Craig Rawlings, who said this year’s conference will be bigger and better.
“Each year, we are relentless in our pursuit of improvement, refining the conference to ensure attendees receive maximum value for their investment,” said Craig Rawlings, President and CEO of the International Mass Timber Conference. “Our mission is to create the world’s premier event where professionals can forge meaningful connections, close deals, and accelerate their projects more efficiently than anywhere else.”
Please note: Wood Central will have special coverage from the International Mass Timber Conference in the coming days.
