Norco Primex 2025 Agricultural Show in Casino has kicked off with a bang with an expanded Forestry exhibition area, featuring equipment demonstrations and presentations from experts in forestry, research, information, and extension.

Running from the 15th to the 17th of May, the three-day event draws thousands of people to regional NSW, including Tara Moriarty—the NSW Minister for Agriculture, Regional NSW, and Western NSW—and Janelle Saffin—the NSW Minister for Emergency Services—has become a hub for the region’s booming agricultural industry.

This year, the forest industry, led by Timber NSW and Timber Queensland in conjunction with the NE NSW Regional Forestry Hub, hosted a forest industry dinner with Norco Primex.

Andrew Hurford, Chair of Timber NSW, and Mick Stephens, CEO of Timber Queensland, welcomed over 115 people to the dinner. Nick Cameron, the Manager of the NE NDSW Regional Forestry Hub, also gave a short welcome.

The major sponsor for the dinner, AE Gibson & Sons, was represented by David Gibson, who welcomed the speaker, Garan Hale of Designer Woodworks, a leading Australian furniture designer based in Kyogle on the North Coast of NSW. Garan is a master woodworker with an impressive history of producing fine furniture, wooden boat restoration, and guitars and is a fierce proponent of native forestry and its multiple benefits.
