The Wood Central team would like to thank the 150,000 plus unique users who have made the platform the world’s largest news site for timber and forest-based content.
And with Christmas just around the corner, Wood Central will continue providing up-to-the-minute coverage on the website and through social and video channels throughout the holiday season.
“We love to do what we do and will continue to provide new content over the holiday period – albeit with slightly fewer articles,” according to Wood Central’s Publisher Jason Ross.
“So please check in with us at WoodCentral.com.au, keep looking out for our newsletters, scroll through your social media feeds, and find us on YouTube and TikTok for updates throughout the season.”
Last month, more than 50,000 users visited Wood Central articles, with Publisher Jason Ross confirming growth was strongest among the website’s catalogue of 200-plus case studies.
“Our organic search traffic is our major source of growth to the website,” Mr Ross said, with the audience, which is slanted heavily to the under 35 users, “actively searching for engaging content on low carbon construction materials, the green economy and the global trade in forest products.”
Last month, Wood Central revealed that more than 69% of users (now 71%) view Wood Central’s 1,300 articles on smartphones and that most users are most interested in architecture, technology, news and politics, travel and finance.
With an eye to 2024, Mr. Ross said that Wood Cental will invest in video, which is “the future of the news business,” and will look to grow YouTube and TikTok, which already attract “about 1,000 views a day.”
“There is such a news vacuum in video content, and we look forward to creating 30, 60 and 90-second content that we can share with younger audiences on new and evolving media platforms,” he said.
Wood Central is also “building out” a new directory that will help users on the site “connect with forest-based businesses” featured in the articles.
